I write children’s books. Currently I am working on a six-book series of action adventure stories for 8-10 year olds.
I love stories based on real-life, where the characters face personal challenges they must overcome to win through. Book written by other authors I have read recently and enjoyed include: The First Third by Will Kostakis, and Between Us by Clare Atkins.
I was born and raised in Melbourne and have lived on the Gold Coast for 10 years. I lived and worked in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates between 2006-2010 and continue to visit annually.
I studied at Gippsland CAE and QUT culminating in being awarded a PhD in 1998. I have worked at QUT and Griffith Universities and managed a Registered Training Organisation in Logan. I have written academic and research papers and non-fiction textbook chapters.
I won an essay competition as a five-year-old (Mum helped) and again in Year 11. In 1998 I won Best Paper in Education in Multiple Sclerosis at the Annual Meeting of Consortium of MS Centers USA.
I am passionate about education and ‘getting people reading'. I write children’s books in the hope that I can play my part in preventing low literacy in young people and adults.
I love to hear from people who read books written for upper primary school, middle grade kids and young adults.
My favourite feedback is from kids about what they are reading.
Just finished a book you recommend? Want to let other people know?
Email me the title, author and your comments; what you enjoyed about the book and what age group of kids or young adults you think would enjoy reading it too.
I can be contacted via this website, on Facebook Judy Wollin Author, and via my blog.
I have struggled with spelling and grammar all my life. Don’t be shy. Let me know what you are reading.
PS if you see any mistakes on my website please let me know. I simply can’t see them.
